Assist our food pantry manger with food drives, stocking, and shelving food in the pantry. Scheduling times vary.
Currently, we have six cottages that operate much like single family homes. Our cottages are home to loving, qualified house parents who feel called to provide structure, stability and safety for up to eight foster children. Houseparents menu plan, grocery shop, and prepare all meals for their family.
Children who have not been fed regularly or consistently may develop a survival mentality toward food– feeling there isn’t enough or it won’t be there the next time. This can result in eating too much too fast, hoarding food, and other challenges. Providing meals and snacks provides comfort and is an important part of the healing process. ur food pantry is an important resource for our houseparents and the children we serve!
One way that you can make an impact is to support the Food Pantry at Christ’s Haven.
